Bodega Pirineos Moristel 2023
Moristel is an obscure, somewhat endangered variety grown in Somontano, in the foothills of the Spanish Pyrenees. Bodega Pirineos, among others in the region, are giving it something of a revival, with this light bodied but dark fruited style. Aromatics are blue and black fruited, with a hint of violets. The palate is supple and soft with a good chalky crunch on the finish.
Based in Somontano at the foothills of the Pyrenees in northern Spain, Bodegas Pirineos was established as a cooperative in 1964. In 2007 it joined the Barbadillo wine group, and is now made up of 150 small growers across 700 hectares in the region.Â
