Marie-Courtin Champagne Eloquence Extra Brut 2018

A striking expression of Chardonnay from the Aube, Éloquence is Marie-Courtin’s rare Blanc de Blancs. This 2018 release is vinified in old oak and bottled without dosage, allowing the chalky soils and ripe vintage to speak clearly. Lean yet layered, it offers citrus and fine saline detail, carried on a precise, persistent line of acidity. It’s a Champagne of real finesse—structured, serious, and deeply expressive. Marie-Courtin is the project of Dominique Moreau, who farms a small estate of old vines in the village of Polisot, in Champagne’s Côte des Bar. This southern part of Champagne, closer to Chablis than Reims, is known for its Kimmeridgian limestone and more Burgundian sensibility. Dominique works entirely biodynamically, ferments with native yeasts, and adds nothing apart from minimal sulfur at bottling. Her wines are single-varietal, single-vineyard, and single-vintage—each one a pure snapshot of time, place, and quiet intention.
